    Helping to provide better education and better opportunities to the students of Nordonia Hills.

    Cooperation between board and administration; Increased accountability both academically and financially


Board Vice President – Doug Masteller

  • What is the most valuable aspect of being a Board Member?
    Having a critical oversight role in providing a quality education to every single student in the Nordonia Hills City School District.
  • What positive change(s) have you observed during term(s) as Board Member?
    Although I have only been a board member for one year, I have seen a more focused attention to the standards based curriculum. Coupled with the district’s reliance on data to make individualized decisions on student instruction, I am much more optimistic about our push to realize and excellent rating on State Report Card.

  • What is the most valuable aspect of being aBoard Member?
    Being actively involved in the education of our children which is something that will benefit them and all of us. What positive change(s) have you observed during term(s) as Board Member?
    Two of our schools reaching the “excellent” rating, with the High School maintaining this rating for three straight years.
    The building and renovation project that provided some of the much needed improvements to our facilities to meet the needs of our growing communities.
    The opening of Lee Eaton as 5-6 building to provide a better educational experience.
    Overall better team work between the Administration and School Board which has allowed our district to continue to move forward in positive direction.


Board Member - Betty Klingenberg

    Retired

  • What is the most valuable aspect of being aBoard Member?
    Being able to give back to the community and showing my appreciation to the residents for all the years they have supported me. I believe our children received a fine education and have become successful in their chosen careers, because of the education they received in the Nordonia Hills City School District.
  • What positive change(s) have you observed during term(s) as Board Member?
    Since becoming a board member in January 2002, I feel our district has grown in a positive direction, with the help of the other Board members, superintendent and administrators, and the entire staff. 
    We are improving every day, facing the many educational challenges presented by both the Federal and State governments. I believe we are making positive progress, and hope to continue in that direction.
