Welcome to Nordonia Schools
Nordonia Hills City Schools are a multi-community, 4,000 student, 215 teacher district located in the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley. The District serves students from five exceptional communities in Summit County, Ohio located in the Cleveland-Akron metropolis.
These communities - Macedonia, Northfield Center, Northfield Village, Sagamore Hills and a portion of the Village of Boston Heights total 30,000 residents. The District is growing both residentially and commercially – with an expected enrollment of nearly 4,100 students by 2009-2010.
In May of 2000, district voters approved a $38.5 million bond issue – to renovate, enhance and expand school facilities. The six buildings include three elementary schools, serving close to 1,400 students in grades k-4, one intermediate school serving grades 5-6, one middle school serving grades 7-8, and one high school, serving over 1,400 students in grades 9-12. In August of 2004, district voters approved a 6.5 mill operating levy, which provide the resources to maintain the high-quality programming that the Nordonia Hills City Schools are known for. The district has an excellent tax base, with this being the first voted new operating funds in over ten years.
Our schools offer a wide range of programs, including advanced placement, excellent educational technology, many co-curriculars, an extensive sports program, full guidance and psychology services, and vocational – technical options via the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center.
