Mr. Dave Wilson, Principal
Mr. Wilson is entering his thirty-sixth year in education and his third year as the principal of Nordonia Middle School. Prior to coming to Nordonia he was a fifth grade teacher for six years, a middle school assistant principal for six years, and a middle school principal for twenty-one years. “I very much enjoy working at Nordonia Middle School. The staff and students are great and the support I have received from central office and other building administrators has been exceptional.” Mr. Wilson is a proud graduate of Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania and has also done graduate work at Cleveland State University. On a personal note, Mr. Wilson and his lovely wife Penny have two grown daughters, one who is a third grade teacher in North Carolina and one who works for a local magazine.
“I have worked with middle school students for most of my professional life and I can’t imagine working at any other level. Every day with pre-adolescents is different and if you do not enjoy a good belly laugh on a daily basis you have not been paying attention. The challenge is to point the students’ energy in the proper direction, lay the foundation for good decision making in the future, and build their confidence. If we at the middle school level can do that, then good things are bound to happen.”
Mr. David Wessel, Associate Principal
Mr. Wessel has been with the Nordonia Hills City School District since 1999, serving as a middle school history teacher, high school coach (cross-country, track, basketball, softball) and currently, as the Nordonia Middle School Associate Principal. He graduated from the College of William and Mary (1993) where he earned a BA in Political Science. He received his Master’s Degree in Administration from Ursuline College (2006).
“I love the Nordonia Hills City School District. I moved to Ohio nine years ago from Virginia leaving behind a lot of friends and memories. The Nordonia community has embraced not only me, but my wife and children as well. Over the last nine years I have been able to build positive relationships with many families. This has been a true blessing.” Mr. Wessel takes pleasure in his position as the associate principal. “I really enjoy my current position at the middle school. I am surrounded by great colleagues who work hard to make a difference in young people’s lives. We all try to uphold our school motto – The Knight Way, The Right Way.”
