Start and End Times Changed for 2008-09 School Year
Beginning with next school year, students and staff in the Nordonia Hills City Schools will have different start and end times to their school days. Superintendent Wayne Blankenship stated, “We researched and evaluated a multitude of different options. In review, we were looking to make changes that would allow us to improve scheduling at Nordonia High School, be more closely aligned with start times for after-school programs; all while not minimizing direct classroom instruction time.” Over the past year a committee researched and evaluated these changes, including schedules from many surrounding school districts. There were a number of factors that needed to be considered in making any change – including the impact on bus routes – maintaining transportation cost along with students attending Cuyahoga Valley Career Center and St. Barnabas.
The following schedule identifies the new start/end times for students for the 2008-09 school year:

Nordonia Middle School 8:00 a.m. 2:45 p.m.
Lee Eaton 7:25 a.m. 2:10 p.m.
Ledgeview Elementary 8:45 a.m. 3:15 p.m.
Northfield Elementary 8:45 a.m. 3:15 p.m.
Rushwood Elementary 8:45 a.m. 3:15 p.m.
Please Note:
- Morning kindergarten students start/end times will be 8:45 a.m./11:25 a.m.
- Afternoon kindergarten students start/end times will be 12:35 p.m./3:15 p.m.
