Dear Rushwood Families;
Please review the following procedures for MORNING ARRIVAL AND AFTERNOON DISMISSAL. Please follow these guidelines, as it is critical to maintaining a constant and SAFE flow of traffic.
Buses will be using the FRONT ENTRANCE of Rushwood. NO PARENT PICK UP OR DROP OFF will be permitted in the front of the building during the following times: 8:30– 8:55am and 3:15-4:00pm
ALL parent pick-up and drop off will in the west lot of Rushwood (off of Nesbitt Road).
In the morning, children will need to remain in cars until 8:40 and wait until a staff member motions them in. Students riding buses will also begin unloading at 8:40am. Students are expected to be in their classroom ready to begin their day by 9:00am. After 9:00am, you will need to report to the main office to sign your child into school.
Car Codes. Each family is assigned a letter and number- as their car code. Please place the card on the windshield on the right hand side. This will help staff to read the number and radio in for your child(ren) to be ready at the pick-up area. YOU MUST DISPLAY THIS CARD TO RETRIEVE YOUR CHILD. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CARD (S), YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PARK AND COME TO THE MAIN OFFICE TO SIGN YOUR CHILD OUT. If you are in need of a new card(s) please contact the main office. We will make you new ones.
Parents, please enter Rushwood ONLY from NESBITT Road during AM/PM drop-off/pick-up times (8:40-8:55am and 3:15-4:00pm.) PLEASE DO NOT use Rushwood Lane during these times as we do not want to cross our traffic pattern. Only buses and daycare transportation vehicles will be permitted to use Rushwood Lane. The Sagamore Hills Police Department has been contacted and will be helping with the flow of traffic.
Kindergarten AM students arrive as all other students (either via bus or parent carpool line (Nesbitt Road). AM dismissal is at 11:45. ALL students are dismissed at the main entrance (Rushwood Lane). Kindergarten PM students ALL arrive main entrance (Rushwood Lane). Students begin at 12:45pm. Dismissal for PM Kdg students is either via bus or via parent pick-up line (Nesbitt Road entrance)
We encourage you to work with neighbors to set up carpooling if you are transporting your child(ren). If carpooling, please make sure that you have with you ALL CARDS for EACH child you will be transporting. Have all cards placed on your windshield/dashboard. NO STUDENT WILL BE RELEASED WITHOUT PROPER CARDS DISPLAYED IN VEHICLES. IF YOU NEED ADDITIONAL CARDS, PLEASE CONTACT THE MAIN OFFICE.
Our breakfast program is available to any student. Children may be dropped off at the main entrance of Rushwood between 8:30am and 8:40am if they are coming in for breakfast. Students are to report directly to the cafeteria.
