Tuesday, October 31st - Fall Costume Day at Rushwood

We know how excited Rushwood students are about dressing up. Please review the following costume guidelines with your student.
*Students are permitted to wear face paint/colored hair, just not excessive.
*Costumes are to be in good taste without displaying gore, blood, or violence.
*Props and Masks may be brought to school and must fit in the student's backpack until the end of the school day for the parade ONLY.
*Hats or wigs are permitted, but must not interfere with learning.
DRESS CODE guidelines from the student code of conduct will apply.

Thank you for your help and support in making this a fun costume day!   As a guiding rule – “We are having fun, but dressing so that learning can continue.”

WEATHER PERMITTING: Parents/families are cordially invited to watch our parade which begins at 2:15 pm. We will walk outside by Safety Town, down the sidewalk that runs parallel to the main entrance (front of the school), and enter the back doors of the gym. Students will make two walkthroughs for photo ops. Visitors should remain outside and can stand by Safety Town and on the grass along
the sidewalk, and along the front of the building.

At the conclusion of the walk, students will go back to their classes. IF you plan to sign your child out after the walk (which will be around 2:45, you will report to their classroom and sign out with their teacher. We will still hold our regular dismissal beginning at 3:30.
There will not be a dismissal after this event from the main office. Rather, please use the car line or bus as normal.
