Reopening Plan Adopted by BOE
PLAN RELEASED

At a special meeting July 23, the Nordonia Hills City School District Board of Education approved the Fall 2020 Reopening Plan. The plan was developed through long and arduous discussions involving administrators, teachers, parents, and public health officials. We understand not every part of the plan will appeal to every family. We are grateful for your support of us as professionals who care about the safety of our children and staff, and we respect any differing opinions you may have.

Under the plan, if Summit County is in Code Orange or Red, students will return to school two days per week. In Code Yellow, students will return five days per week. In Code Purple, students will participate in remote instruction at home five days per week. At its September 28, 2020 regular meeting, the Board of Education will review the progress of the plan and make adjustments as appropriate.

Please review carefully for details regarding face coverings, schedules, and more. You can find the reopening plan here: Board Approved Reopening Plan

TOWNHALL MEETING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS

The plan contains two options. To help you decide which option will work best for your family, we will host a virtual town hall meeting on Thursday, July 30, at 7 p.m. via Facebook Live, in which the administrative team and I will answer questions related to the reopening plan. We will also create a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document that we will share with the public and post on our website. After you have reviewed the Reopening Plan, you may submit questions for the town hall meeting here: https://tinyurl.com/NordoniaReopeningQuestions

To attend the meeting, you can find the Nordonia Schools Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/NordoniaHillsSchools

I know the stress and anxiety of running a school district at this unusual time. I can’t imagine the stress and anxiety of being a parent. Thank you so much for your patience as we work to put together a reopening plan that will keep students and staff safe while maintaining the academic excellence you have come to expect with the Nordonia Schools.

Thanks for your continued support of the Nordonia Schools, and Go Knights!
