Thank you for your continued support and flexibility as we work through these unusual times. As you know, the Nordonia Hills City School District will continue to provide remote learning for students through June 2.
I have several news items today.
Last night the Board adopted an alternative calendar for 2020-21 to be implemented in the case that all students are not permitted to return to school at the same time, or if the school closure continues into next school year.
I will announce no later than June 30 which calendar the district will use. If the direction from the state is still unclear on June 30, the alternative calendar will be implemented.

After considering feedback from the community and Nordonia staff, the Board has committed to the following regarding kindergarten tuition:
The district will fully refund all 2019-20 kindergarten families for the time school was closed due to COVID. Please allow the treasurer’s office time to process and mail refund checks.
The district will charge a $300 deposit for 2020-21 kindergarten but families will not be required to make any additional payments until kids are back in school full time. Also, tuition for 2020-21 will be prorated, with the district not charging for any days canceled due to the pandemic.
It is possible the 2020-21 school year will be disrupted. This may include a delayed start to the school year, students attending school in shifts, and lengthy school closures during the year.
It is possible that families who enroll in part-time kindergarten may not be able to “upgrade” to full-time kindergarten later.
The deadline to select full-time kindergarten is July 31, 2020. Also, the deadline to switch from full-time to part-time kindergarten and still receive a refund of your deposit is July 31, 2020.
Next Monday is Memorial Day. There will be no meal pickup on Monday, May 25. The following days are the remaining days scheduled for meal pickup:
