Nordonia Schedules March 15 Calamity Day
This past weekend nearly 500 Nordonia Schools employees received the first dose of the Moderna vaccine for COVID-19. This represents more than 90% of our regular staff and also includes bus drivers, substitutes, coaches, student teachers, therapists and others who are not regular or official employees of the schools.

The second dose of the vaccine has been scheduled for March 12-14. The second dose of the Moderna vaccine reportedly is very reactive, often causing fever, chills, and muscle aches for up to 24 hours. This means that we expect up to 50 percent of our staff to not feel healthy enough to work on Monday, March 15.

For this reason, Monday, March 15 will be a calamity day for all district students. All schools will be closed, and we will not be providing remote instruction that day for Option 1 or Option 2 students. We expect to be open as regular on Tuesday, March 16.
As always, we encourage all Nordonia families to wear masks, practice social distancing, avoid large groups, and wash their hands frequently.
