Lee Eaton to Return to Hybrid
As you know, we have begun to use more localized data when determining the model our schools will be operating under, and we will operate under the model until change is necessary.

This week, we find that change is necessary at Lee Eaton. The two positive COVID-19 cases at Lee Eaton so far this week have caused very few to be quarantined. Even still, the absence rate at Lee Eaton has shot up over 10% for both staff and students this week, over 20% for staff today alone. We are at a point where additional staff absences will cause us not to be able to operate the school, so we are taking this preemptive measure in an effort to keep school open. We are aware of staff members who are currently quarantining and awaiting COVID test results.

All Lee Eaton students should attend school tomorrow, November 12. All Lee Eaton students will participate in remote learning Friday, while Lee Eaton teachers prepare the transition back to hybrid. Students will be provided with remote learning activities to work on Friday. Then, beginning Monday, November 16, Lee Eaton will again be operating under the hybrid model, with the Nordonia group attending Mondays and Wednesdays, and the Knights group attending Tuesdays and Thursdays. Lee Eaton will remain in this model until a change is necessary.

Our other schools will remain as they are.
  • Northfield, Rushwood, and Ledgeview students will continue to attend school five days per week.
  • Nordonia Middle School and Nordonia High School students will continue to operate under a hybrid model.
As you have undoubtedly seen in the news, community spread of COVID-19 is increasing at frightening rates. While the schools have done a good job providing a safe environment for staff and students, unchecked community spread carries with it the potential to close schools. As a reminder, please continue to model for your children social distancing, avoiding large groups, hand washing and the wearing of face covers.

Thanks for your continued support of the Nordonia Schools, and Go Knights!
