Project Helping Hearts is a grass roots project started by six of our fourth grade students who approached Ms.Cottrell because they wanted to do something to help people in need. As a result of their kindness and compassion for others, the Ledgeview fourth graders have banded together for Project Helping Hearts.
Fourth grade volunteers will be selling paper hearts from Monday, February 6 to Friday, February 10 during students’ lunch periods. The hearts will cost $1 each. Students purchasing the hearts can decorate and return the hearts with their names on them to be included on a banner to send to Emergency Assistance Center. All of the hearts purchased will raise funds for Project Helping Hearts.
Funds from the sale of the hearts will be used to purchase material to make fleece blankets and pillows to donate to the Emergency Assistance Center. Our fourth grade student volunteers will assemble the blankets and pillows during their recess.
