Please Donate Your Gently Used Books
Research shows that students read more when they have access to books at their reading level that they choose based on their interests. In order to support our students independent reading over the summer months Ledgeview Elementary would like to send all of our students home with books that meet this criteria. As part of this effort we are asking that families donate any gently used books that your children have out grown. We will sort these books by AR level and students will be allowed to choose books to take home for the summer. Books can be sent to the main office and library. Thank you in advance for your help with this project.

The Power of Reading to Your Child
Research shows that reading aloud is the single most important thing parents can do to help their young child prepare for reading and learning. Click on this link for more information about the importance of reading to your child each day and click on this link to view an infographic you can download and post on your fridge.
Free Books for Preschool Kids
Ledgeview Elementary would like to make our parents of preschool-aged children aware of a program available through United Way of Summit County's Imagination Library. Families with young children can receive free books through the Imagination Library. Parents may sign-up their child at this link and expect to receive the first book, "The Little Engine That Could," within the following eight to 10 weeks.
