Welcome to the Curriculum and Instruction website. The Nordonia Hills School District's primary business is student learning and achievement. We are committed to providing a rigorous learning experience for all of our students every day. We will accomplish this with classroom instruction that is of the highest quality; a coordinated, aligned and articulated K-12 curriculum; and an opportunity for parents to be active participants in their child's education.

Summer Reading Book Assistance
We are excited to share that a committee of Nordonia parents, teachers, multiple librarians, university personnel and community organizations came together this past fall and winter and revamped the Nordonia Hills City Schools Summer Reading Program for the summer of 2015. When children read throughout the summer, they become better readers and better learners. Summer reading helps children keep and improve the reading skills they have developed during the school year.
All Nordonia students enrolled for the 2015-2016 school year are required to complete their summer reading assignments as outlined in the summer reading brochures. Please click here to see the available brochures. Please enjoy reviewing how each grade band has updated the program by clicking through each of the documents available.
In order to help parents find the necessary books to purchase this summer, we are working with our local bookstore, The Book Shelf, located at 152 East Aurora Road (St Rt 82), Northfield to stock the necessary book titles. If you are interested in purchasing your books at The Book Shelf, please click on this link. This link will take you to a parent questionnaire. If you complete the questionnaire, a representative from The Book Shelf will work with you to complete your order.
Families have the opportunity to purchase books through any vendor of their choosing. However, with the new summer reading updates, we are allowing for more choice in book selection. We anticipate that some bookstores might have a difficult time stocking book titles. Please feel free to use the questionnaire and The Book Shelf as a means of convenience in finding your summer reading book selections.
If you have any questions regarding your child’s reading level, summer reading book selection, or summer reading assignments, please feel free to contact his/her teacher before the end of the school year.
Please have a great upcoming summer.
