The Common Core and Next Generation of Testing: Parent Information Night
In light of the massive changes that have been taking place in both curriculum and testing over the past few years, the staff at Lee Eaton would like to invite you to a Parent Night to discuss The Common Core and Next Generation of Testing. During this hour long program, the administrative and counseling staff hope to inform parents of the noticeable changes you and your student may be noticing in the classroom, as well as give a preview to the Next Generation of online testing that will be taking place for your student beginning in February.
We will be providing guidance and navigation of state level resources for parents and students, as well as dialogue that will help to best prepare everyone for a new phase in standardized testing. All resources will be shared on the Lee Eaton website under the “parent resources” page in advance of this evening, in addition to practice test links that have already been added to the “student resources” page. We hope that you will be able to join us for a tutorial on some of these resources on Tuesday, January 20th from 6:00-7:00PM in the LE gym. In addition to other resources I have previously shared through our LE newsletter, I will continue to forward helpful resources as we enter a very new age in education. The event on January 20th is for parents only, as your student will have been exposed to this same material through Advisory class as well as from their teachers.
In addition to this specific collection of sites, we have also created a Lee Eaton Symbaloo which serves as a “dashboard” of important links, including access to grade level teacher websites and learning resources. Each grade level Symbaloo is listed below in the Grade Level Websites listing. When you visit the Symbaloo, use the following login information for access:
Have a happy holiday season, and we look forward to seeing you on January 20th!
