Dear Nordonia High School Families,

It is with great pride and pleasure that I introduce myself to our Nordonia High School parents, students, and community members. As you may have already heard, Mr. Casey Wright has been promoted to the District position of Director of Business and I will be serving as Nordonia High School’s Principal this school year. Some Lee Eaton and Ledgeview families may recognize my name as I have assisted each building in a leadership capacity in the last couple years.

Throughout my career, I have enjoyed working with teens and young adults at Bedford High School, Charles F. Brush High School, and finally Twinsburg High School prior to retiring. I consider “The High School” as home away from home. As a Spanish teacher early on in my career, I realized that working with teens while implementing and overseeing programming to allow students to be most successful was and remains my passion. Along with the NHS administrative team, faculty, and support staff, I am looking forward to partnering with our students and families to build upon the level of success created by Mr. Wright, Dr. Clark, and our Nordonia Board of Education. I know that you’ve heard this before…It Takes a Village ! Thus, I cannot do this alone!

I look forward to meeting more NHS students and families in the coming weeks as school events get underway. Students, please enjoy these remaining days of summer break. We will all be back together before you know it. Parents, my email address is included below if you wish to contact me.

With great enthusiasm,

Louise Teringo

Nordonia High School Principal

Nordonia High School is a comprehensive high school with an enrollment of approximately 1,250 students, grades 9-12. The school year is composed of two 90-day semesters with four 9-week grading periods. The school day consists of seven 48-minute instructional periods. Our mission is to inspire every student to value learning, community and excellence. The vision statement for the school is: Nordonia High School will have first-class standards and expectations; incorporate social and cultural values while respecting individual diversity; and provide a safe secure learning environment. Using meaningful activities and technologies, we will continuously strive to raise these standards, expectations and support lifelong learning in our community.

The Nordonia faculty, district curriculum committees, the curriculum office and school continuous improvement teams have worked diligently to establish clear, rigorous and reasonable academic standards that all students are expected to meet. The faculty members open their classrooms to new ideas by utilizing quality resources and technology. The faculty consists of 88 certified professionals, 43 percent of whom hold advanced degrees. The average teaching experience is 15+ years. A comprehensive guidance program is provided by four accredited counselors.
