Nordonia Track and Field 2024

Dear Parents,

     My name is Krissy Dombroski and I am the head coach of the middle school track and field team that your son/daughter has signed up to participate this season.  I am writing to let you know about some important items regarding this season.

• Communication: We will be communicating with parents and with the coaches via an App called TeamReach. We will use TeamReach in following ways:

1. to alert you of any changes to practice locations, 

2. cancellations of meets/practice due to inclement weather; 

3. Practice and Meet schedule along with addresses for the various locations

4. Communication one on one with parents via text messaging through TeamReach.

• PRACTICE:  This is very important.  Practice time will be from 3-5pm.  All locations of practices are listed on the Location Calendar found on the Athletics website and on TeamReach. TeamReach has the most up to date location.  It will also be given out in paper copy at the Parent meeting on Wednesday March 6th at 5:15pm.  Practices are mandatory!  It is vital to the progression of the Athlete’s training that they attend all practices. If they will be missing a practice, this must be communicated by a parent to a coach in writing via a note, text via TeamReach or email before practice!!!

Shoes/racing spikes:  A good pair of running shoes is vital for any athlete to protect from injury. In addition racing spikes are used in meets. Distance spikes or sprint spikes are definitely helpful in a meet but are not required in middle school.  To aid in the shoe selection, we highly recommend Fleet Feet on RT. 82 in Northfield across from Rosati’s Custard Stand.  The owner is generously offering a discount to all Nordonia Track and Field Athletes during SPIKE WEEK which is March 4th - 10th.  Simply let them know you are an athlete for the Nordonia Track Team before purchase and the discount will be granted. 

• Fees:   The Athletic Fee is required to be paid before the first Competition.  If you have any questions regarding this, please contact the Office here at the Middle School and someone will direct you to speak to the proper person.

• Season Begins Girls: March 4th;   Boys: Tuesday March 5th.

• Mandatory Parent Meeting: Wednesday: March 6th at 5:15 pm in the school cafeteria.
