Community Intervention

The Community Intervention Coordinator is responsible and accountable for the planning, development, coordination, and evaluation of all activities related to alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and violence prevention and intervention throughout the school district. These activities are performed in conformity with the school district’s policy on alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and violence. Listed are the activities provided to the school community: Support groups, D.A.R.E., Junior Teen Institute, Teen Institute, Tobacco Education and Cessation Program, Peer Mediation program, and direct counseling and referral services for parents, staff, and students . Other areas where the Community Intervention Coordinator has responsibility: parent support and education; teacher support and education; evaluation and selection of alcohol, drug, tobacco, and violence prevention curricula;  as a liaison for the Employee Assistance Program; as liaison to counseling and treatment agencies; as a representative of the school district at local and statewide meetings; funding programs; and to conduct program evaluation and needs assessments.
